Whether I’m traveling by plane, automobile or on foot, podcasts are my favorite way to not only pass the time but also feel like I’m learning something in the process. Whether it be tips about a specific topic, fascinating interviews with masters in their field or a tidbit of inspiration to jolt me into action, I love to feel like my down time is not wasted by educating myself or furthering my personal development. These podcasts for creators are the most inspiring ones that I’ve enjoyed over the last year or so and I hope you’ll find something you fall in love with in this list! Don’t forget to leave a comment below with your favorites as well.
1. The Tim Ferriss Show
This is my absolute favorite and has been for the last four years. Tim has access to some of the top minds in the world (Katie Couric, Jamie Foxx, Arianna Huffington, Richard Branson and many more) but also interviews some fascinating lesser known names. Listening to The Tim Ferriss Show makes me feel like I’m a fly on the wall at a dinner party with some of the smartest and most savvy business people in the world and I eat up every minute.

- Dr. Gabor Mate, Physician specializing in neurology, psychiatry, and psychology — Discusses really important topics surrounding addiction
2. The Goal Digger Podcast
Jenna Kutcher is a breath of fresh air. I love her personality and businesswoman savvy and especially appreciate how approachable and down to earth she is. She’s had incredible success going from a small-town wedding photographer to becoming a self-made millionaire by building her brand online and she shares all the nitty gritty details in a real and honest way on her show, The Goal Digger Podcast. She has some serious wisdom to impart!

3. Pursuit with Purpose
If you’re a blogger or in the process of building a business online then you NEED to be following Melyssa Griffin. This chick seriously has her marketing sh*t together and has built incredible online products that help others to make money online and turn their dreams into reality. I was a fan way before she launched her podcast, Pursuit with Purpose, but it’s been a great addition to her incredible brand.

4. The Marie Forleo Podcast
I’ve been a fan of Marie Forleo for years, since back when I completed her B School back in 2013. She is a creative genius when it comes to marketing, but the think I love most about her is her incredible energy and fun enthusiasm that she brings to everything she does. The Marie Forleo podcast is no different and provides tons of snippets of wisdom surrounding topics of entrepreneurship, authenticity, generosity, fear, courage — the list goes on!

5. Profit Boss
Love it or hate it, one thing that we could all be better at is managing our money — and I often find that creatives love what they’re doing, but HATE dealing with the logistical/financial side of their businesses. I love Hilary Hendershott’s podcast, Profit Boss, because it focuses on financial empowerment specifically for women and breaks concepts down into accessible and easy-to-understand information.

6. Magic Lessons with Elizabeth Gilbert
This podcast was produced during the time Elizabeth Gilbert (author of Eat Pray Love) was promoting her new book Big Magic which came out in 2015, but the episodes are still extremely relevant and inspirational for creatives. The format of the podcast allowed Gilbert’s fans to write in letters with their creative struggles, which the author then answers on live calls with her readers and often brings in other expert creatives to assist in the feedback process. Like the name, her wisdom is nothing short of magic in the Magic Lessons podcast.

7. Aubrey Marcus Podcast
This is a newer one I’ve subscribed too but have been really impressed so far with Aubrey’s unique perspectives on life and personal development. Self proclaimed as a “modern philosopher,” he’s also the founder of Onnit, a lifestyle brand based on a holistic health philosophy he calls Total Human Optimization. There are many episodes of the Aubrey Marcus Podcast that focus on health and nutrition, but I think he does a really great job of pulling through themes that can apply to any area of life.

I haven’t listened to enough to provide a comprehensive list, but his latest episode is with one of my favorite writers, Mark Manson and would be a great intro into the Aubrey Marcus Podcast!
