Tulum has become synonymous with eco-luxury accommodation and lush boho vibes, but it’s no longer just the trendy beachfront boutique hotels that are monopolizing the options in the area.

The truth is, as Tulum becomes more and more developed each year, the Airbnb options are increasing exponentially–and many offer just as incredible spaces and amenities if not better than some of the local hotels.

However, the rental options have gotten a bit overwhelming. I mean, there are a LOT out there to sift through. So I’ve taken it upon myself to do the legwork for you to find the absolute best Airbnbs in Tulum so that your search for the perfect place to stay in Tulum can end here.

But first, what should you look for in a Tulum Airbnb?

I’ve been to Tulum twice now, so I can share from personal experience what to look for in a Tulum Airbnb.

First off, location is really important. If you’re not familiar with Tulum’s layout yet, then I’d recommend checking out this post where I explain the different neighborhoods throughout the area.

If staying as close to the beach is top priority for you, you’ll want to keep that in mind and take a look at each Airbnb property’s map at the bottom of the listing where you can see whether it’s situated by the beach, in central Tulum or in one of the nearby neighborhoods.

If comforts like AC, huge beds and WIFI will make or break your trip, then double-check if the Airbnb has the amenities you require. FYI–pretty much all of the rentals I’ve included in this post have air conditioning, except for the jungle eco treehouse.

I’ve made sure to include the best Airbnbs in Tulum that only have high ratings, so you don’t have to worry too much on that front. You’ll also find properties at every budget level in this post, from super luxury Airbnb rentals to stays under $100 per night.

If you’re looking to skip the hotel scene and stay in a more private Airbnb during your time in Tulum, I hope you’ll find your perfect match here. I’m already dreaming of my next trip back so I can add one of these gorgeous properties to my list!

So without further ado…
