I’m so guilty of this sometimes—when I’m home from a trip there are days I’ll look up and realize I haven’t left the house to even step outside. That’s when I notice any discontent, anxiety and fear creep up the most. Sometimes all it takes is a little recalibration in nature to start coming back into your self again ✨

The benefits of being in nature are endless. And they are free 🙌🏻

Final look at Burning Man 2024 🔥 )’(

Burning Man is a place where synchronicities and possibilities are endless 🦋✨

Where some of the most creative minds in the world create the unimaginable.

Where you are loved and accepted for who you are and whoever you want to be.

Where the typical rules of society that keep us small are torn away.

And where community gathers to rediscover the wonder and the play that keeps us feeling alive as humans.

It’s a place where love, kindness, acceptance and open-minded are the guiding forces.

These are just a few of the many reasons why I will continue to go back to Burning Man again and again. Thank you @burningman for another beautiful year in the desert.

This was my second year on playa after experiencing a very untraditional first Burn last year that turned into a mess of rain and mud.

The irony is that despite almost perfect weather this year, my 2nd burn was so much more challenging for me logistically, emotionally and on a soul level than year one.

I think what most people see on the surface is the bliss, the dancing, the silliness and the party of Burning Man, and that’s all very real. But just like any other city, Black Rock City is a place where humans are experiencing the full spectrum of emotions—there are high highs and very low lows.

The difference is that at Burning Man there is so much love, support, acceptance and non-judgment, that it can break you open that much wider. The walls around your heart start to come down. The collective energy is so palpable that whatever is being felt is felt that much deeper.

Overall my week was incredibly joyful and full of so much love, but I also spent many hours in the Temple of Together this year.

Grieving for the people I’ve lost in my life.
Grieving for people around the world who have lost their lives too soon.
Grieving for the many more I will lose in this lifetime.

With so much heartbreak in Palestine, Israel and Ukraine this year, the collective grief felt like a weighted blanket on my heart. I’ve never cried so hard in front of so many strangers. I’ve never felt so much bliss and so much pain in a single day. I left the playa with swollen eyes and a heavy heart but with so much gratitude for this beautiful life I get to live every day.

RV breakdowns, bike breakdowns, emotional breakdowns, extreme white outs, grief, worry. They say the playa doesn’t give you what you want, it gives you what you need. I’m leaving Burning Man 2024 still integrating all that the playa taught me this year. Just feeling grateful for the people in my life who I get to share in the rawness and the endless hugs.

And thank you @nattyicin for documenting some of these moments when I couldn’t 💖

I’ve been to 50 countries and the playa is hands down one of the most magical places I’ve ever visited. It can give you the highest highs and the lowest lows, but it teaches you to sit with and appreciate the full spectrum of emotions. Not to judge them, but to embrace them in all their humanness.

Grief, bliss, extreme gratitude, exhaustion, fear, frustration, awe, catharsis, love, amusement. I felt it all on the playa this year 🙏🏻🦋✨

For anyone currently deep in their own grief journey, this video is for you 🫶🏻

It’s been over 7 years now since losing both my parents within 6 weeks of each other. I was 30 years old, less than a year into launching my business (aka I had no clue what I was doing). I was nomadic and totally lost.

Trying to build a public facing business while I was hurting so deeply on the inside was not at all in the plan. Most of the time I wanted to hide my puffy eyes, and cry alone in peace. But somehow I put one foot in front of the other and kept going.

It’s been a long road to get here, but I look back on these most challenging years of my life with so much love and gratitude for the person that this life initiation shaped me into.

Grief is shitty and horrible and all the worst things that you never wish on anyone, but grief could never exist if there wasn’t a deep love for the things you lost. Grief and love are inextricably intertwined and what a blessing that is to have loved so much.

Grief will always be part of my story and is still present in my life today, but it doesn’t have a hold over me like it once did.

I just hope that if you’re in the thick of it right now that this brings you hope that there is a lighter future ahead. Your light and sparkle will return in time 💖

Sending so much love to anyone on this journey. Your love for them will last forever but the pain will ease with time
