Quick Tips for Dining in Todos Santos

  • Check Hours Before You Go: Restaurants in Todos Santos tend to be on Baja hours, which means places are often closed for one or two days during the week (usually Mondays and Tuesdays), and despite what Google Maps hours say, they might be wrong. Make sure to triple check hours before you go and be prepared to still get it wrong sometimes.
  • Make Reservations: As laidback as this town can be, you do need to have reservations for some of the most popular and trendy spots, especially if visiting during weekends in high season. When in doubt, make a res.
  • Prices and Payments Accepted: Prices range widely in Todos Santos, but you can find something to fit your budget. Street carts will be your cheapest option, yet there are still fancier restaurants that are akin to US prices. Most restaurants accept credit cards, but it’s always good to have a little cash just in case.
  • Nightlife: You might be surprised to learn that Todos Santos doesn’t have a huge nightlife. It’s actually pretty sleepy at night! So plan to eat and drink on the earlier side (before 9 PM) if you’re planning to have a fun night out.

The Best Restaurants in Todos Santos, Mexico

Hierbabuena

It’s a bit off-the-beaten path, but if you’re looking for healthy, farm-fresh food, Hierbabuena is worth the drive down the long dirt road to get there. It’s absolutely one of the best restaurants in Todos Santos.

You’ll get a true farm-to-table dining experience here because they grow their produce on-site in their beautiful organic gardens.

The fare is seasonal and organic with options like catch-of-the-day seafood, veggie forward dishes, wood fired pizzas, and more. The ambiance is also a main highlight, featuring a large outdoor seating area overlooking the gardens plus a full bar with fabulous cocktails.

Walk-ins only, no reservations required. Hierbabuena is vegetarian-friendly with vegan and gluten-free options too.

Jazamango

Topping the list of the best restaurants in Todos Santos is Jazamango, which serves some of the most amazing food in Baja.

Renowned Tijuana-born chef, Javier Plascencia, is both the head chef and the owner, and his menu is a creative and contemporary take on Mexican cuisine that will delight foodie travelers.

Jazamango is the epitome of farm-to-table, with views of the gardens where your food is grown right from the open air patio.

Here you can expect house specialties like their roasted suckling pig served alongside fresh seafood caught locally in Punta Lobos and veggie dishes like zucchini carpaccio and fava bean hummus. They also offer an excellent selection of cocktails and local beer and wines.

This spot is a little more pricey than some other restaurants in the area, but it is 100% worth the splurge for a truly special culinary experience in Todos Santos.

Important Note: This is Jazamango’s dinner restaurant, while there is another separate Jazamango Cafe located in town that serves brunch.

Address: Calle Naranjos, Esquina Jardín Plaza Principal, Todos Santos 23300 Mexico

Oystera

Yes, oysters are a thing in Mexico too. Oystera is a classic oyster bar downtown in an old sugar mill with delicious oysters and standout seafood.

The vibe here is what makes it one of the best restaurants in Todos Santos though. The terrace and gardens are absolutely stunning and the grounds below honestly feel like a private castle courtyard in Europe.

If you don’t come for the food, it’s worth it to stroll through and take a peek!

The Green Room

Dining chairs in the sand at The Green Room in Todos Santos, one of the best restaurants in Todos Santos

It’s not a trip to Todos Santos without a trip to The Green Room, which is located right on the sand just north of popular surfing spot La Pastora. Come here for unbeatable sunset beach views, dreamy Mediterranean vibes, and great casual bites like tostadas and tacos.

If you just want to grab a drink at the bar and watch the sunset with your toes in the sand, that works too.

However, it’s a bit of an adventure to get to as the dirt road that leads you there is pretty rough and about 15 minutes drive out of town. Stick it out and you’ll be glad you did to enjoy the best beachfront dining in the area.

Out of all Todos Santos restaurants, this is one I would say not to skip for the overall experience. Reservations are highly recommended!

Address: Villa Santa Cruz, Camino a Las Playitas, la Pastora Lote 462, Todos Santos 23300 Mexico

La Esquina

For breakfast, brunch and lunch, La Esquina takes the cake for one of the best restaurants in Todos Santos. You can find locally-sourced, healthy comfort food here like breakfast burritos, sandwiches (on fresh bread they bake daily), soups, salads, smoothies, juices, and coffee.

La Esquina is just a short walk from the main downtown area and has an all-outdoor seating area, and also great wifi if you’re looking for somewhere to park it for a little while to get some work done.

Address: Calle Topete and Horizonte Toward Las Playitas, Todos Santos 23305 Mexico

Paradero Restaurant

Tostada and juice at Paradero Restaurant

Paradero is one of the most stunning hotels in all of Todos Santos so it’s no surprise that their on-site restaurant is amazing as well.

Even if you aren’t staying at the hotel, I definitely recommend stopping by for a meal because their Mexican/Japanese/French-fusion menu is a true culinary experience. We ate some of the best food and the most fresh fish of our entire trip here.

Design lovers will also swoon over the architecture and interiors at Paradero.

Address: La Mesa Km 59 +3100, Carretera Todos Santos, Todos Santos 23300 Mexico

Barracuda Cantina

If you make your way down to Los Cerritos Beach, a stop at Barracuda Cantina is a must. It’s a casual beach bar and taco truck kind of place that has some of the best fish tacos (shoutout to the fried avocado tacos as well) and margaritas in the area.

The vibe is fun and laid back and it’s only a 5-minute walk from the beach, so it’s the perfect spot to grab a bite after a long day in the sun.

Fun fact: Barracuda Cantina was featured on season two, episode seven of the Netflix show, “The Taco Chronicles.”

Address: Playa Los Cerritos Cerritos Beach, El Pescadero 23310 Mexico

Ristorante Tre Galline

For when you’ve had one too many fish tacos and need a breather, head to Ristorante Tre Galline, an upscale Italian spot in downtown Todos Santos serving delicious and authentic Italian cuisine. The owners are from Northern Italy so it’s the real deal.

Tre Galline is often a dining rec you’ll get from locals, and they’re known for their delicious handmade pasta, fresh fish, excellent wine list, and cozy ambience.

Address: CentenarIo 33, Todos Santos 23300 Mexico

Siempre Viva

Fresh salad and pizza at Siempre Viva

There are a number of restaurants that describe themselves as “farm-to-table” in and around the Todos Santos area, but Siempre Viva is truly the real deal. In 2015 they opened as an organic farm in Pescadero and then decided to build out a restaurant on the property in 2021.

Their produce is grown on site, the meat they use is raised on a ranch nearby, and they source their seafood from local fishermen. I’m not sure if it gets more local than that!

However lots of people miss this one (we were literally the only ones dining here for lunch), because it’s a bit hidden in Pescadero. Don’t let the short venture south of Todos Santos scare you—this hidden gem is al fresco dining at its finest.

Address: Road To The Beach El Pescadero A Un Lado De El Perdido, El Pescadero 23310 Mexico

Crudo

They claim to have “Baja’s best friend chicken and natural wines” and they might just be right.

Crudo is a cute little local watering hole in El Pescadaro that has a small but tasty menu featuring a raw bar, small bites, tacos, cocktails, and an impressive list of natural wines. The vibe is fun and casual and they even host karaoke on Monday nights

Note: Crudo is closed seasonally from June through the beginning of November.

Address: Country Road, El Pescadero 23300 Mexico

Amaya Beach Bar

You know it’s going to be good when the directions are, “Take the dirt road ‘til the palm grove meets the ocean.”

In between Todos Santos and Cerritos Beach, Amaya is a boho beach bar and music venue near San Pedrito Beach that feels like a true hidden gem.

The location right on the beach can’t be beat (especially for sunsets) and their menu includes ceviches, tacos, grilled fish and meat entrees, as well as a good selection of beer and cocktails.

There is often live music here too and they recently hosted their first music festival called Bajaja Music Fest.

Address: Playa San Pedrito, El Pescadero Mexico

Pacifica Fish Market

One of the best restaurants in Todos Santos for fish tacos, Pacifica Fish Market is part fish market and part laid-back restaurant that serves some of the freshest seafood you’ll get anywhere in the area.

They serve quality tacos on homemade tortillas that will impress taco snobs and novices alike. The fish market is also a great option if you’re looking for some super fresh seafood to cook up at your Airbnb.

Address: Calle Horizonte Colonia El Rio, Todos Santos 23300 Mexico

Neveria Rocco

Neveria Rocco ice cream shop exterior

On the hunt for the best ice cream in Todos Santos? Look no further than Neveria Rocco. It’s a hole-in-the-wall kind of spot in the historic section of downtown and they make all their ice cream and paletas (Mexican popsicles) on-site.

There are a ton of different flavors and it’s super cheap so it’s the perfect little treat to enjoy while strolling around downtown. Try the avocado ice cream!

Address: Calle Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla 8 Calle Hidalgo between Calle Juarez and Calle Centenario, Todos Santos 23300 Mexico

Taller 17

No town is complete without a hipster coffee shop and Taller 17 is it in downtown Todos Santos—plus, It’s also where you’ll find the best coffee in town. They have legitimate cold brew here, and for the dairy-free folks, it’s worth noting that they have a good variety of alternative milk options

For non-coffee drinkers, you can get matcha and even house-made kombucha here.

Not just a coffee shop though, Taller 17 is equally known for their mouth watering pastries and baked goods like fresh cinnamon rolls, blondies, scones, cookies, pies, and more. Fair warning: Don’t plan to step foot in here if you’re avoiding a sugar craving—the scents are overwhelming!

Note: There’s often a line here, but it’s worth the wait.

Address: Centenario Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, Todos Santos 23300 Mexico

Caffe Todos Santos

Probably best known for their brunch, Caffe Todos Santos is a popular place to grab a morning bite if you’re in downtown Todos Santos.

The menu and the atmosphere give off more traditional, old-school Mexico vibes, and the food is solid (think traditional Mexican dishes mixed with classic brunch options). Honestly…it’s kind of perfect if you may have indulged in one too many margaritas the night before, just sayin’…

Caffe Todos Santos isn’t just open for brunch, they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner too. Plus, they’re located on one of the most colorful and picturesque streets in Todos Santos in my opinion.

Address: Calle Centenario 33, Todos Santos 87501 Mexico

5 Tacos and a Beer

Don’t miss 5 Tacos and a Beer if you’re on the hunt for the best taco spots in Todos Santos.

A little bit north of town, 5 Tacos and a Beer is a great little taqueria, but it’s a bit of a hidden gem since it’s outside the main downtown. You’ll need to know about this spot in order to get here—and luckily now you do!

They serve a full menu of tacos at a great price. You can get their signature menu item—5 tacos and a beer—for 195 Mexican pesos, which is roughly $11 USD.

There are other menu items like hamburgers and hot dogs if you’ve had your fill of tacos, and the ambiance is great and super low-key. They often have live music in the evenings as well.

Address: Calle Las Playitas S/n Todos Santos, Baja California Sur., Todos Santos 23300 Mexico

La Paceña

Located right in downtown Todos Santos but often overlooked, La Paceña easily competes for the best tacos in Todos Santos title.

This little street taco stand is known for their insanely good fried fish tacos, but once they sell out for the day they close—so make sure to go here early! And don’t miss ordering the shrimp and fish tacos.

Address: Manuel Márquez de León S/N, Centro, 23080 Todos Santos, B.C.S., Mexico

Benno at Hotel San Cristobal

If you’re looking for a chic and elevated dining experience by the beach, then Hotel San Cristobal’s on-site restaurant, Benno, is a great option.

Their menu makes full use of local ingredients and serves elevated Mexican staples that are fresh and simply prepared. For drinks, they focus on organic wines and small-batch mezcal, and overall, you really just can’t beat the beautiful decor and ocean views here.

Benno is open for breakfast and dinner to hotel guests and non-guests.

Address: Carretera Federal No 19 Hotel San Cristobal Punta Lobos, Km 54+800, Todos Santos 23300 Mexico
